On Thursday April 10, the Minister of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan, Ms. Soleha Kholmahmadzoda, received members of a delegation from the Russian Federation, who were in the country to discuss issues of employment, population migration, and the training of specialists.

The Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population (MoLMEP)’s press center says the parties discussed matters such as increasing the organized recruitment of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan for employment in the Russian Federation, pre-departure preparation, protection of rights and interests, ensuring decent working conditions for labor migrants, and strengthening cooperation between Russian employers and labor recruitment companies.

In particular, to enhance this cooperation, the establishment of branch offices of the State Institution “Multifunctional Migration Center” within the newly established Skills Development and Vocational Training and Service Centers was proposed.

This initiative aims to facilitate the organization of Russian language proficiency exams, as the delegation members got acquainted with one such center in Danghara district, Khatlon province. They also proposed accelerating the process of signing the draft protocol on amendments and additions to the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation on the organized recruitment of Tajik citizens for temporary labor activities in the territory of the Russian Federation, dated April 17, 2019.

Both parties expressed satisfaction with their bilateral cooperation and declared their readiness to further strengthen and expand their collaboration.
