A national forum on girls' leadership titled "Amplifying Voices – Impacting Decisions" took place in Dushanbe on April 28.  The participants had the opportunity not only to meet successful women but also to receive practical advice.

The forum brought together girl leaders from the UNICEF project "Strengthening Girls' Leadership Skills for a Sustainable Transition to Adulthood" from the cities of Vahdat, Roudaki, Hisor, Vakhsh, Nurek, Lyakhsh, Dushanbe as well as Varzob, and Shahrinav districts.  This project was implemented by the NGO "Equal to Equal."

Additionally, girls from UNICEF's Techxtile Hub and the "Girls in IT Robotics" project participated in the event.

One of the goals of the forum was to provide a platform for active girls, initiatives, and organizations to present their opportunities for advancing girls' leadership, social entrepreneurship, and business, as well as to exchange experiences.  The organizers also aimed to motivate the girls through successful real-life examples.

The forum included a panel discussion with women leaders from government service and the private sector, including MP Munavvar Abdusalomzoda, First Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Youth and Sports Shabnam Rahimzoda, Director of the “Siyoma Mall” shopping and entertainment center Nodira Irgashova, and Alif Bank Director Gulanor Atobek.

In addition, there were held discussions with successful women from the business sector, workshops on AI, and sessions on "Communication Skills and Public Speaking for Girls' Leadership" and "Green Skills."

Speakers at the forum included the UN Resident Coordinator for Tajikistan, Mrs. Kavilmadam Ramaswami Parvathy,  UNICEF Representative, Mr. Arthur van Dieren, members of parliament, representatives from the Committee for Women and Family Affairs, the Committee on Youth and Sports, the Republican Center for Additional Education, as well as the European Union Delegation to Tajikistan, UN Women, OSCE Programme Office, and others.

Each speaker emphasized the importance of supporting girls in developing their leadership and entrepreneurial skills.
