The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a US$500,000 technical assistance grant to support the Government of Tajikistan in preparing for the modernization and digitalization of its state social insurance and pension system, says press release issued by the ADB Tajikistan Resident Mission (TJRM).

The technical assistance grant will develop a feasibility study for a forthcoming investment project aimed at strengthening the institutional framework of social insurance and pensions in the country, developing a national automated information system, and enhancing the operational capacity of the Agency of Social Insurance and Pensions (ASIP).  The proposed investment project is included in ADB’s indicative pipeline for 2026.

Through this technical assistance, ADB will help assess the legal, financial, and administrative aspects of the system, and propose reforms to improve governance, strategic planning, and investment strategy. The technical assistance grant will also prepare a feasibility study on the digitalization of ASIP processes and services.

ADB is a leading multilateral development bank supporting sustainable, inclusive, and resilient growth across Asia and the Pacific.  Working with its members and partners to solve complex challenges together, ADB harnesses innovative financial tools and strategic partnerships to transform lives, build quality infrastructure, and safeguard our planet.  Founded in 1966, the Asian Development Bank is owned by 69 members—50 from the region.
