As of June 1, 2025, the total tax arrears in Tajikistan amounted to 975.8 million somonis (approximately US$102 million), according to the Tax Committee under the Government of Tajikistan. This marks an increase of 235.6 million somonis in tax arrears compared to the beginning of the year.

The Tax Committee has highlighted several major debtors, including:

  • OJSC "Distribution Electric Networks" – 144.6 million somonis
  • OJSC NBO Roghun – 58.6 million somonis
  • Enterprises under the Agency for Melioration and Irrigation – 48.2 million somonis
  • CJSC Talco Gold – 30.2 million somonis
  • SUE Sanitary Transport Service of Khujand – 30 million somonis
  • Enterprises under SUE Housing and Communal Services – 28.9 million somonis
  • Angishti Ziddi Mine – 19.3 million somonis
  • OJSC Angisht – 10.2 million somonis

These entities collectively account for 38% of the total tax arrears.

In the first half of 2025, the Tax Committee identified 9,100 instances of violations of tax legislation, resulting in administrative fines totaling 670.5 million somonis.

The committee also reported that over the first half of 2025, Tajikistan’s state budget has received 12.7 billion somonis in internal taxes and other mandatory payments, 13.7% more than the planned amount.
