Over the first six months of this year, Tajikistan’s industrial exports — excluding precious metals and gemstones — have reached US$953 million, marking a 36.6% increase compared to the same period last year. The figures were announced by the Export Agency under the Government of Tajikistan at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 28.
Khurshed Zuhurzoda, First Deputy Director of the Export Agency, highlighted that raw materials continue to dominate, accounting for 70% of exports, while processed industrial goods made up the remaining 30%.
The Netherlands, China, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, and Russia were the top importers of Tajik goods. The export surge was driven by strong performances in metals, energy, and textiles.
Top 10 export products (January–June 2025)
- Antimony – Leading the list, antimony generated US$286.5 million, more than tripling last year’s US$88.3 million. Interestingly, the volume dropped by 6% to 6,482.5 tons.
- Aluminum – Ranked second, aluminum exports earned US$120.5 million, up 33.1%. Export volumes rose to 47,600 tons, up from 38,500 tons.
- Concentrates of metals and gemstones – This category brought in US$98 million, a 71.4% jump, with export volumes up 60.3% to 40,800 tons.
- Lead and lead concentrates – Exports generated US$89.2 million (+57.7%) with volumes at 52,100 tons (+37.1%).
- Zinc and zinc concentrates – Brought in US$52.5 million (+38.7%) with 63,300 tons exported (+19%).
- Electricity – Power exports totaled US$54.9 million, up 57.8% year-on-year.
- Clothing – Light industry continued to grow, with garment exports reaching US$14.1 million, a 39.2% increase.
- Copper – Earned US$12.1 million (+57.2%), with 3,300 tons exported (+33.3%).
- Aluminum Profiles, Scrap, and Waste – Brought in US$11.9 million (+92%) with over 4,000 tons shipped (+49.3%).
- Coal – Export revenues surged to US$10.8 million — over six times last year’s figure. Export volume jumped from 44,700 to 267,500 tons.
Officials emphasized the need to further develop value-added production to reduce dependence on raw material exports and strengthen Tajikistan’s industrial base.
