The population of Tajikistan as of July 1, 2025 exceeded 10.6 million people. This is reported by the Department of Demographic Statistics, Employment and Social Sphere of the Agency for Statistics of the Republic of Tajikistan.

According to the ministry, in the first 6 months of this year, the population of Tajikistan increased by 2.1%. The natural population growth in JanuaryJune compared to the same period in 2024 was 2%, or 98.9 thousand people (18.8 people per 1000 people).

In the first half of this year, civil registry offices registered 116.2 thousand newborns and 17.2 thousand deaths, including 0.8 thousand children under the age of one year.

According to preliminary estimates, the total fertility and mortality rates were 22.1 and 3.3 per 1,000 people, respectively.

In the first half of 2025, the number of registered births in the republic increased by 2.1% compared to the same period in 2024.
