The Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan has responded to the publication of AsiaPlus about complaints from teachers in some districts about unpaid wages and vacation pay.

The Ministry said in a statement that after the publication of the article, specialists from the State Service for Supervision of Labor, Migration and Employment conducted an audit, which found that as of August 18, 2025, salaries and vacation pay had been paid in full to all education workers.

The AsiaPlus article, prepared and published on the basis of a survey on social networks, cited complaints from some teachers from Shahritus, Nosiri Khusrav, Vakhdat districts, Isfara and Khujand cities about unpaid wages and vacation pay.

In its response, the Ministry stressed that the State Control Service had conducted an inspection in the specified areas and found that the debts owed to teachers had been fully repaid. The ministry noted that inspections, in particular, were carried out at schools No. 44 in Shakhritus and No. 9 in Vakhdat, whose teachers spoke about non-payment of salaries.

The same applies to educational institutions in the cities of Khujand and Isfara in the Sughd region, where debts to teachers have also been repaid, according to the Ministry of Labor.

The Ministry called on citizens to contact the State Service for Supervision of Labor, Migration and Employment in writing or by calling 231-49-19, 231-44-16 in case of violation of their rights by the employer, non-payment of vacation pay and wages.

Recall that almost a month ago, some teachers complained to AsiaPlus about delays in paying salaries. The country's Ministry of Education and Science confirmed the existence of such a problem at a press conference on July 28, saying that teachers' salaries would be paid in full by the end of July. However, even after this period, teachers at some schools reported delays in payments.

The Ministry of Education and Science stated that the timely payment of salaries to teachers depends on city and district administrations and "filling their budgets."
