The Dushanbe–Samarkand–Dushanbe flight, which had been operating for only three months, has been permanently removed from the schedule.

According to the Uzbek airline Centrum Air’s office in Tajikistan, the decision was reportedly made due to the route’s low profitability

"The number of passengers was too low even during the active travel season. The aircraft were never fully loaded, making the route economically unviable," an official source within the company’s office in Tajikistan told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Flights between Dushanbe and Samarkand are not expected to resume in the near future. Centrum Air emphasized that the decision to cancel the service followed a thorough analysis of passenger flow and market conditions.

The route was relaunched on July 20, 2025, with Centrum Air operating flights twice a week — on Thursdays and Sundays. Ticket prices started at 608,000 Uzbek soums (approximately 460 somonis), and were available through the airline's official website and at ticket offices.

Despite the cancellation of this route, another Centrum Air flight — Tashkent–Dushanbe–Tashkent — remains in demand and will continue operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Ticket prices for this air route are 653,000 soums (about 495 somonis). This flight was launched in July 2025 and continues to enjoy steady demand among residents of both countries.
