A high-level delegation from Tajikistan presented a series of strategic investment projects at the Central Asia–U.S. Business Conference held in Washington, D.C., as part of the broader C5+1 Summit aimed at strengthening regional cooperation.

According to the state-run news agency Khovar, the Tajik delegation included senior officials from various ministries and government agencies, successful entrepreneurs, and representatives from the academic community.

The business forum featured sector-specific discussions, where Tajik delegates outlined opportunities for enhanced collaboration in promising fields ranging from industrial development and digital transformation to green energy and innovation. A major focus was placed on attracting foreign investment, sharing expertise in artificial intelligence (AI), and promoting the growth of modern technologies.

One of the highlights of the event was a speech by young Tajik AI specialist Azizjon Azimi, who emphasized the critical importance of international cooperation in the field of intellectual property and the transformative role of artificial intelligence in today’s world. Azimi noted that with strong government support, Tajikistan is taking concrete steps to implement AI technologies on a broader and more efficient scale.

Participants also spotlighted the country’s abundant natural resources as a solid foundation for the development of entrepreneurship, trade, and industry.

Discussions identified new avenues for collaboration with Tajikistan in sectors such as mechanical engineering, metallurgy, light industry, food production, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and construction materials.

Tourism emerged as another area of strong interest. Delegates noted that Tajikistan’s mountainous terrain, scenic landscapes, historical landmarks, and rich cultural heritage position the country as a promising destination for mountaineering, eco-tourism, and wellness travel.

By the end of the conference, participants unanimously agreed on the need to further expand cooperation between the United States and Central Asian nations—particularly in the areas of trade, investment, science, digitalization, and advanced technology.
