The 2025 Abu Dhabi World Jiu-Jitsu Championship has become one of the most successful events in Tajikistan’s sporting history, with the national team earning five gold medals under the leadership of head coach Komil Boimurodov.

Young athletes Majid Sohibzoda (24 kg) and Muhammad Sharifzoda (27 kg) topped the podium in the junior divisions.

In the youth category, Salmon Rizoev (62 kg) and Muhammad Boimurodov (50 kg) stunned the competition, each winning 4–5 matches, most of them by early submission.

Another standout was Maruf Dilshod, who claimed the world title in his division at the adult level — the main event of the championship.

Speaking to Asia-Plus, coach Komil Boimurodov emphasized that these victories were the result of structured, disciplined training, not coincidence: “Each of these athletes earned it. No skipped practices, no excuses — only purpose, focus, and daily work.”

Boimurodov noted that Tajik fighters now compete on equal footing with global powerhouses like Brazil, the UAE, and the U.S.: “We are building a generation ready to compete at the professional level. Today’s victory is tomorrow’s responsibility. Our athletes have proven they can win against anyone.”

He also praised his team’s mental toughness: “They stayed composed under pressure and took control from the first second. For young athletes, that’s the hardest part — and they nailed it.”

Boimurodov’s training system is widely regarded as one of the most organized in the country, with emphasis on technique, physical conditioning, and tactical thinking. But the foundation, he insists, is discipline.

“Our philosophy is simple: hard work every day. It doesn’t matter what the rankings say — it matters what you prove on the mat. And they proved it,” he concluded.
