As part of the first "Central Asia – Japan" summit in Tokyo, a series of accompanying events and bilateral meetings took place, aimed at strengthening Tajikistan-Japan relations in key sectors.

One such event, Tajik-Japan Digital Business Connect, which took place in Tokyo on December 18. The event focused on showcasing the potential and opportunities of Tajikistan's digital sector. The event was organized by the Innovation and Digital Technology Agency of Tajikistan, in collaboration with the Communications Service under the Government of Tajikistan.

In his speech, Khurshed Mirzo, Director of the Agency, outlined the opportunities, priorities, and prospects for the development of innovation and digital technologies in the country.

“The event aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of digital economy, innovation, and information technology, with the participation of IT Park Dushanbe residents and leading IT companies from Tajikistan,” an official source told Asia-Plus in an interview.  

Representatives from Tajik companies reportedly held meetings with Japanese companies and business representatives, where they presented advanced practices, potential areas of cooperation, joint projects, as well as digital products and services.
