Tajikistan’s Brazilian jiu-jitsu team achieved one of its most significant successes in history with an outstanding performance at the ACBJJ World Championship 2025.

At the end of the championship, Tajik athletes secured 40 medals, including 19 golds, 12 silvers, and 9 bronzes. The tournament brought together top fighters from around the world, testing not only physical preparation but also tactical maturity.

Tajikistan’s representatives demonstrated exceptional confidence, composure, and a high level of competition in both Gi and No-Gi disciplines, winning the majority of their matches by submission.

One of the main heroes of the championship was Samir Rizayev, who became a double world champion in both Gi and No-Gi categories.

Muhammad Boymurodov and Bilol Shodavlatov also showcased absolute dominance, securing world championship titles in their respective categories.

Abdulaziz Homidov had a strong showing, winning gold in Gi and silver in No-Gi, reaffirming his status as a versatile fighter at the world level.

Another notable result came from Ashraf Saidalizoda, who became a four-time ACBJJ World Champion, further solidifying Tajikistan's position in the global Jiu-Jitsu elite.

Vice-champions of the tournament included Dovoud Jonshoyev (55 kg), Abubakr Gadoyev (60 kg), Sherzod Islamov (55 kg), and Mustafo Ashurzoda (50 kg).

Bronze medals were awarded to Ahmadjon Narimanov (55 kg) and Muhammad Akbarov (45 kg), as well as Alisher Buidoqov, who became a medalist in both Gi and No-Gi disciplines.

“This result confirms that Tajikistan's Jiu-Jitsu school is now among the most competitive on the world stage. This achievement is not the work of one person but the result of daily efforts from all the coaches, athletes, and the new leadership team. We see that the system is beginning to work, and we will continue to jointly develop our sport,” commented Tajikistan’s national team coach Komil Boymurodov to Asia-Plus.

According to him, key factors in the team’s success were discipline, a unified training approach, and regular participation in international competitions.

“The guys didn’t just win – they aimed to dominate, to show all their skill until the very last second of the fight. Victories at this level speak to the right preparation and confidence in their abilities. We are moving in the right direction,” added Boymurodov.

The ACBJJ World Championship 2025 concluded the season for Tajikistan’s team. Today, in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Tajikistan is no longer a promising up-and-comer but a recognized force. Based on this year’s results, the team has even more ambitious goals and new heights to reach.
