DUSHANBE, December 26, 2012, Asia-Plus — The issue of ratification of an agreement between Tajikistan and NATO on physical security and stockpile management has been tabled to the agenda of today’s sitting of the fourth session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) of the fourth convocation, Muhammadato Sultonv, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
We will recall that Tajikistan has requested NATO assistance for physical security and stockpile management (PSSM). The project reportedly provides for improving the physical security and stockpile management of ammunition in Tajikistan, and in particular to help secure the ammunition stocks close to Tajikistan’s southern border with Afghanistan.
The Majlisi Namoyandagon will also consider draft laws on pastures and the medium-term development strategy designed for 2013-2015, the source said.
