The 1st international agricultural investment forum ” Agroinvest.kz -2008″ opened in Astana.

“Approximately Kazakhstan economy equals to US$ 100 billion. It is known that till the end of this year US$ 10 billion will be injected into Kazakh economy from National Welfare Fund and US$ 5 billion from National Bank for liquidity support. The biggest part of these investments will be allocated in agricultural sector,” Karim Massimov, Prime Minister said.

Over 150 Kazakh and foreign companies from 24 countries participate in the event. About 150 investment projects with total budget of US$ 2 billion will be presented within this conference. In addition memorandums of “Kazagro” Holding with Food and Agriculture Organization of United Nations and China Development Bank and between other participating companies will be signed.
