KHUJAND, October 14, 2008, Asia-Plus — A 44-year-old woman from Kyrgyzstan Z.T. was detained in the Tajik northern city of Isfara on October 13 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking, according to the Sughd police directorate.
Four packages of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 3.586 kilograms were confiscated from her.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Z.T. under the provisions of Article 200. Part 3 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors, and an investigation is under way.
