We walked along it before the big holiday – Victory Day.

Since February of this year, a large-scale reconstruction of the memorial complex — Victory Park has been underway. The work is not yet completed, but everything should be ready by the May 9 holiday. You can see all the changes in our photo report.

The memory wall has been updated and the main square at the memorial complex, where soldiers and commanders of the Red Army who died in evacuation hospitals in Dushanbe and on the front were buried, has been reconstructed.

The main staircase adjacent to the memorial has also been reconstructed – it features monuments with photographs of the soldiers. Additionally, the adjacent roads have been updated.

Now, on both sides of the eternal flame, bas-reliefs have been installed, one of which was not completed at the time of our visit. Repairs were also carried out in the room inside the memorial, which the correspondent of “Asia-Plus” was not allowed to enter, with an explanation that everything would be ready by May 9.

When asked what was there before, the responsible park employee refused to answer.

The reconstruction of the memorial complex was also carried out in 2024.

At that time, a new Stele with bas-reliefs and a decorative wall were installed, and the legendary IS-2 tank was relocated from Victory Square.

The parade and side staircases have also been updated.
