DUSHANBE, May 2, 2013, Asia-Plus – Two parties dedicated to a creative work of internationally known writer and poet Timour Zulfiqorov will take place in Dushanbe this month.

The first one will be held at the Cultural Center Bactria on May 4 (starting time: 4:00 pm) and the second one will take place at the Tajik Academic Theater named after Abulqosim Lohouti on May 11 (starting time: 17:00 pm).

Russian singer Irina Vann will perform love songs by Timour Zulfiqorov.

Born on August 17, 1936, Timour Zulfiqorov is internationally known Russian/Tajik poet, playwright, and novelist.  He was born in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

We will recall that Russia’s publishing house, Khudozhestvennaya Literatura, in 2010 nominated the novel by Timour Zulfiqorov “Stoyashchiy i Rydayushchiy sredi Begushchikh Vod” (Standing and Sobbing in the Rushing Waters) for a Nobel Prize in Literature.

Written in 1993, “Stoyashchiy i Rydayushchiy sredi Begushchikh Vod” is a novel about love during civil war.
