DUSHANBE, May 16, 2013, Asia-Plus — Thirty-nine countries of the world have provided more than 32 million U.S. dollars worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first four months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Some 2,600 tons of wheat flour, 293.6 tons of vegetable oil, more than US$16.1 million worth of medicines and medical equipment, footwear and clothing for 948,900 U.S. dollars as well as food products and electrical appliances were delivered to the country over the report period.
Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 69.7 percent, the Russian Federation – 7.8 percent, China – 3.6 percent, the Netherlands – 2.8 percent, Austria – 2.5 percent, Korea – 2.2 percent, Denmark – 2.1 percent, Iran – 1.3 percent, Latvia – 1.2 percent, Kazakhstan – 1.0 percent, India – 0.7 percent, Turkey and the United Kingdom – 0.5 percent each, Germany, Lebanon and Pakistan – 0.3 percent each.
