Dushanbe. 27 August. “Asia-Plus” – President’s press office reports that strengthening Tajikistan’s security after the withdrawal of international anti-terrorist forces from Afghanistan in 2014 was discussed on Monday, 26 August, during the Security Council meeting, which was presided by President Emamali Rahman.

Heads of security, military, and law enforcement agencies reported to the president on the issue. Special attention was paid to the permanent readiness of armed forces, security and stability in the country and on the border with Afghanistan, fight against terrorism, extremism, and crime, including transnational organized crime.

During the meeting Prime-Minister Aqil Aqilov’s reported on the preparation of national economic complex for the upcoming fall-winter. Mr. Rahman instructed to take timely measures to replenish sufficient reserves of fuel and food in educational, health, and social service institutions, as well as to prepare the heating system in the capital and other cities.

Specific instructions are given on transportation and stocking of fuel and food in Badakhshan Province and other mountainous districts.
