KULOB, October 24, 2013, Asia-Plus — Although the pre-election agitation campaign kicked off in Tajikistan on October 16, only one agitation call has still appeared in Kulob.

Posted on the billboard at the Ismoili Somoni Avenue in downtown Kulob, the poster is rather the entreaty then the call – Kulob residents have decided to pin their hopes for a happy future on incumbent President Emomali Rahmon.

Asia-Plus’s reporter for Kulob surveyed 100 residents of Kulob at random and no one of them could name any of five opponents of Emomali Rahmon in the upcoming presidential election.

According to some sources, the bill board poster was installed on an initiative of the Kulob mayor’s office, which has just indirect relation to the upcoming presidential election.  It just must to provide technical assistance to the electoral commission to hold democratic and fair elections.

“I do not like that they have decided everything instead of me, they even decided who will bring me luck that I has not yet discerned,” one of those surveyed, who wanted to remain unnamed, said.
