DUSHANBE, October 28, 2013, Asia-Plus – On Sunday October 27, President Emomali Rahmon started working tour of the Kulob region in the in the southern Khatlon province.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, the Farkhor district was the first leg of president’s visit the Kulob region.
The main purpose of the visit for the president is to get acquainted with the socioeconomic situation in the area and participate in ceremonies of opening of a number of social and economic facilities there.
While in Farkhor, President Rahmon officially opened a new building of the primary organization of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which he heads.
He also participated in an official opening of new buildings of the district library and local museum in the administrative center of Farkhor.
1.4 million somoni have reportedly been spent for construction of the library building and 2 million have been spent for construction of the museum building.
In Farkhor, the president also participated in opening of a new building of the Stare Committee for National Security (SCNS)’s office in Farkhor and gave a kick-start to the project for reconstruction of rural roads.
In the village of Tojkiston, Rahmon opened a new school, construction of which had been funded by entrepreneur Dilovar Muhiddinov, who works in the Russian Federation. A total cost of the project is reportedly 7.245 million somoni.
Rahmon also participated in ground breaking ceremonies for construction of a new school, the branch of Tajprombank, hotel and spinning mill in Farkhor.
He reportedly also participated in a ceremony of an official opening of a 10,000-seat multi-purpose stadium in Farkhor. 12 million somoni have been allocated from the country’s budget for construction of this stadium.
President’s working trip to the Kulob region is continuing.
