Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin has read at an open meeting of the UN Security Council on Georgia the decrees of the Russian president on the recognition of independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. The Russian ambassador expressed satisfaction over the fact that the meeting is held in an open regime, “which provides an opportunity to announce these decrees” not only before the Council members, but also before all members of the international community.
