From April 22 to 24, a major exhibition RES 2026 EXPO took place in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, becoming a new platform for green investments in Central Asia. Tajik designers Khurshed Sattorov and the founder of the ZHIWJ brand Nafisa Imranova also participated in it.

Today, the name Khurshed Sattorov is one of the most prominent in Tajikistan’s modern fashion industry. He has managed to transform the national costume into high fashion recognized on international runways.

His works are distinguished by a combination of ancient traditions with modern cuts: the couturier actively uses chakan, atlas, and adras, drawing inspiration from Persian-Tajik literature. This is why his collections are often called “living history,” and his latest, “Shahnameh,” is inspired by the immortal epic of Abulqasim Firdawsi.

Last week, Sattorov presented it in Kazakhstan as part of an exhibition dedicated to ecology. The collection drew significant interest from the public and received many positive reviews.

At the show, his models performed excellently, as their impeccable runway walk was overseen by the renowned choreographer and ballet master Manzoura Habibova.

Khurshed Sattorov expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Culture for their support, noting that such international outings are extremely important for strengthening the country’s image on the world stage.

Along with him, Nafisa Imranova also showcased her eco-collection of clothing in Astana. Her participation alongside Khurshed creates a comprehensive picture of Tajik fashion: from couture outfits to modern everyday clothing with ethnic motifs.

300 outfits for the 35th anniversary of independence, but that’s not all…

Khurshed Sattorov is one of the few Tajik designers whose ethnic collections are regularly presented at international Fashion Weeks in Milan, Paris, London, and New York. In addition, he actively participates in state events such as “Days of Culture,” showcasing national ceremonial outfits.

Currently, the designer is preparing a major project with the support of the country’s president — the Milli Fashion Show, which is held twice a year to support young designers. For each event, the designer creates new collections.

The traditional national clothing festival-show MILLI FASHION SHOW is organized twice a year by Khurshed Sattorov’s Fashion House with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Executive Authority of the State in Dushanbe.

The main goal of the event is to preserve national roots, culture, and traditions, as well as to showcase both traditional and modern outfits with ethnic motifs from various regions of Tajikistan.

Within the framework of the Milli Fashion Show, competitions are also held where young designers receive grants, access to quality fabrics, and the opportunity to present their works on the same platform as high-level professionals.
