Armenia’s auditing company to examine Tajik bank’s activity

DUSHANBE, August 16, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Armenia’s consulting and auditing company Grant Thornton is examining work of the Tajik incorporated industrial bank for reconstruction and development, TajPromBank, carried out in FY 2007, according to TajPromBank’s head office in Dushanbe.    

The source at TajPromBank’s head office said that “by agreement with the National Bank of Tajikistan foreign auditors examine the bank’s activity every year.”  According to him, the audit work began on August 13 and will end in mid-September.

Established in 1995, TajPromBank, with headquarters in Dushanbe, now has 17 branches across the country.    

Grant Thornton’s services are evaluated through internal quality control review procedures and policies, as well as regular assessments by Grant Thornton International.  Its audit work is carried out using GT Horizon™ audit approach and GT Explorer audit software.  These tools are developed by Grant Thornton International and constantly updated to reflect changes in regulations and standards.

Assessment of internal control systems of clients is realized using another tool developed by Grant Thornton International – auditCARE.  It helps carry out a thorough examination of client”s internal control system and give practical advice on its improvement.   

The company’s assurance and audit-related services include audit of statutory financial statements, audit of financial statements prepared according to international financial reporting standards (IFRS), US GAAP and other financial reporting frameworks, review of financial statements, compilation of financial statements, and agreed upon procedures
