DUSHANBE, February 3, 2014, Asia-Plus – A special operation carried out by Tajik police officers in Dushanbe on February 2 led to the seizure of some 27 kilograms of drugs, according to the Interior Ministry’s website.

The 19-year-old of Khatlon’s Shouroobod district, Rajabali Nasriddinov, and the 22-year-old resident of Khatlon’s Hamadoni district, Lutfullo Safarov, were reported arrested in Dushanbe and some 19 kilograms of raw opium were confiscated from them.

Besides, the 32-year-old Afghan national, Ahmad Bismillah Nouri, was also arrested in that operation in Dushanbe and some 8 kilograms of heroin were confiscated from him.

Besides, officers from the transportation police department found 1.2 kilograms of heroin hidden while inspecting the Dushanbe-Moscow train.

The Interior Ministry’s website also reports that a drug cache containing more than 101 kilograms of cannabis and weapons was discovered in the Oftobzamin area of the Shouroobod district in Khatlon province on January 31.
