DUSHANBE, July 10, 2014, Asia-Plus — An enlarged meeting of the Interior Ministry board, presided over by the Interior Ministry Ramazon Rahimzoda, is being held today afternoon to review the results of work of the past half-year’s work.

“A special attention is expected to be paid to the crime detection problem,” an official source at the Interior Ministry told Asia-Plus in an interview.

Meanwhile, according to data of the Agency or Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, 7,154 crimes have been reported in Tajikistan over the first four months of this year and some 79 percent of all the reported crimes have been solved.

The Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) is reportedly the problem region in terms of crime detection.  212 crimes have been reported in Gorno-Badakhshan over the same four-month period and only 69.9 percent of them have been solved.

As far as the northern province of Sughd is concerned, 1,837 crimes have been reported in the area in January-April this year and 87.5 percent of them have been solved.
