DUSHANBE, June 19, 2014, Asia-Plus – One more traffic accident involving son of high-ranking official has occurred in Dushanbe.
Traffic accident involving Khusrav Jobbirov, the son of the first deputy head of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption Tohir Jobbirzoda, happened in the Tajik capital on June 11.
An official source at the Russian Trade Office in Tajikistan says Lexus GS 350 (number plate 07-88 SV 02), driven by Khusrav Jobbirov, crashed into two cars belonging to the Russian trade offices that were parked at the side of the Loiq Sherali Street outside the office building. Fortunately, no injured was reported.
“One of the cars is now beyond repair,” said the source. “Khusrav Jobbirov, who is eighteen years of age, escaped the accident scene, following which his relatives came and tired to make pressure on traffic police officers.”
The source noted that there was also Russian number plate O 031 OO 178 (rus) in Lexus GS 350’s trunk.
The Russian Trade Representative Office has reportedly applied to the Tajik Foreign Ministry for competent investigation into the accident.
According to the source, they estimate damage caused to their vehicles at 30,000 U.S. dollars.
Asia-Plus got in touch with Tohir Jobbirzoda by phone and he admitted that his son was responsible for the accident. “Of course he will be punished,” Jobbirzoda said, noting that amount of damage is inconsiderable and does not exceed 10,000 U.S. dollars.
He further added that Lexus belonged to his son’s friend.
Several traffic accidents, involving children of the country’s elite, happened in Tajikistan last year. The most deadly accident involved Rasoul Amonullo, the 16-year-old son of the ex-chief of the Tajik state railway company Amonullo Hukumatullo.
We will recall that three persons were killed and three others were seriously injured on October 9 as BMW crashed into VAZ- 21-04. According to the Interior Ministry’s website, Rasoul Amonullo, who was behind the wheel of BMW, is responsible for the deadly accident.
Rasoul Amonullo was reportedly driving his brand-new BMW above the speed limit in the wee hours of the morning when he struck another vehicle.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted under the provisions of Article 212 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – traffic infringement and violation of rules of exploitation of means of transport entailing the death of two and more persons
The Tajik Interior Ministry described Rasoul Amonullo as “a participant in the traffic accident,” adding that another participant in the traffic accident, Umarjon Sharipov, will also be questioned in the case.
The Interior Ministry’s press center reports criminal proceedings have been instituted against Umarjon Sharipov, who has previous conviction for hooliganism, under Article 212 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code.
According to some source, the Hukumatullo family is now in Germany. They reportedly flew there by private plane on charter flight.
In a statement issued on November 1, 2013 to mark the start of the “Safe City” campaign in Dushanbe, the presidential press service said that 850 CCTV cameras installed around the city will monitor the streets to prevent, among other violations, “deadly accidents [involving] the children of officials, state workers, and rich citizens.”
