KONIBODOM, July 17, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Over the first six months of this year, the Konibodom city budget has been short of 417,000 somonis as three local industrial enterprises have not been in operation for different reasons.

According to the industry department within the Konibodom mayor’s office, compared to January-June 2007, the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to 107.4 percent; however, Konibodom has received from the industrial production 3.483 million somonis less than its due and the local budget has been short of additional 417,900 somonis over the report period.

Joint-stock company (JSC) Assor, producing cooking (cottonseed) oil, has stood idle because of lack of raw materials, joint venture Ravot-Adria, producing alcohol drinks, has not been in operation because of lack of circulating assets, said the source.  As far as JSC Iram, producing cottonseed oil and tinned goods, is concerned, the top manager of the company was recently replaced and the further destiny of the company is still unknown, according to him.

The tax and wage debts of the Konibodom industrial enterprises currently amount to 304,000 somonis and 20,000 somonis respectively.  Thus, tax debts of JSC Habib (the Konibodom cotton-ginning factory) now exceed 157,000 somonis and tax debts of JSC Konibodom (cannery) currently amount to 98,000 somonis.
