DUSHANBE, July 14, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia in the field of labor migration were discussed at a meeting of senior representatives of the migration service within the Ministry of Interior (MoI) with Saudi delegation here on July 10, according to the MoI press service.  

Mr. Sad Nahar al-Baddah, chairman of the Saudi commission for employment, heading a working group arrived in Tajikistan to discuss bilateral cooperation in the field of labor migration.

During the meeting with representatives of the migration service, he noted that Saudi Arabia needs builders, energy and oil industries.  Women could also be placed in jobs on the following specialties – doctors, nurses and tutors.  The Saudi official noted that they will be provided with all necessary conditions of labor and life.

In the course of the talks, the sides also discussed the establishment of the center for studying the Arabic language and traditions and rites of the receiving country.  

Besides, the Saudi delegation suggested that a working group should be set up to work our, coordinate and sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in that field, the press service said.      

In the meantime, a meeting of representatives of the MoI migration service with visiting representatives of the Republican Agency for Employment and Legal Protection of Immigrants of Russia’s Tatarstan Republic was held in Dushanbe on July 9.  

During the meeting, it was noted that Tatarstan is partner of Tajikistan in recruiting labor migrants.  The Agency representatives, in particular, noted that four large machine-building plants in Tatarstan are ready to accept labor migrants from Tajikistan.
