DUSHANBE, July 9, Asia-Plus — More than 58,000 new jobs have been created in Tajikistan over the first six months of this year, which 2,663 jobs more than in the same period of 2007, Anvar Boboyev, the deputy director of the State Agency for Social Protection and Migration within the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (MoLSP), announced at an enlarged board meeting of the Agency in Dushanbe on July 8.
“According to data provided by the State Committee for Statistics, the number of wage laborers working with enterprises of all forms of property in Tajikistan is estimated at 1,330,700 people, which is 50.9 percent of the total number of the employed population,” Boboyev said.
He noted that over the report period, the Agency has organized 73 job fairs in various regions of the country and 973 enterprises having participated in those fairs have offered 14,771 job vacancies.
“2,895 persons have been placed in jobs, 772 persons have been involved in the paid public works, and 779 other persons have been sent to take refresher courses,” Boboyev said.
