DUSHANBE, June 20, Asia-Plus — Officers from the Drug Control Agency have stopped an attempt by drug peddler to transport narcotic drug to the Russian Federation.
According to press service of the counter narcotics agency, the 41-year-old resident of the Tursunzoda district was detained yesterday at the Dushanbe airport on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. He was going to travel to Moscow on a TajikAir flight with drugs in his stomach.
The drug peddler had ingested 14 wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing some 100 grams, the press service said.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the drug peddler and an investigation is under way.
