DUSHANBE, June 16, Asia-Plus — During a four-day visit, a German delegation led by Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy of Germany, Mr. Gunter Nook, has discussed with Tajik officials issues related state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Germany and Tajikistan as well as the human rights situation in Tajikistan, according to the Tajik MFA press service.
The German delegation arrived in Tajikistan on June 12 and left the country Sunder afternoon.
During its stay in Tajikistan, the German delegation held talks with the first Deputy Foreign Minister, Abdullo Yuldoshev, and members of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Constitution, Legislation and Human Rights.
The talks with deputy foreign minister focused on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Germany and Tajikistan and the meeting with Tajik MPs was dedicated to the human rights situation in Tajikistan and humanitarian cooperation, press service said.
During his stay in Tajikistan, Mr. Nooke also visited Shahritus, Qubodiyon and Nosir Khusrav districts in the Khatlon province, where he met with representatives of civil society, local authorities and the OSCE field office in Shahritus.
