Tajikistan’s Jan-Apr liquefied gas imports amount to nearly 50 million USD

DUSHANBE, May 19, 2015, Asia-Plus – Over the first four months of this year, Tajikistan has imported about 111,000 tons of liquefied gas to a total amount of nearly 50 million U.S. dollars, which was 26 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.

An official source at the Customs Service says Kazakhstan provides the bulk of Tajikistan’s liquefied gas imports.  In January-April, Tajikistan has reportedly imported more than 86,000 tons of liquefied gas from Kazakhstan.

Tajikistan also imports liquefied gas from Russia (little more than 16,000 tons) and Turkmenistan (more than 7,500 tons).

Tajikistan receives deliveries of liquefied gas by road and rail.  More than 60 percent of the country”s motor vehicles reportedly use liquefied gas as fuel.
