Tajikistan

’s Youth Day opened at the Kokhi Jomi Complex in


Dushanbe


today morning.






Meliksho Nematov, the head of the Committee for Youth, Sports and Tourism Affairs, addressed the event that brought together representatives of active youth from all regions of the country.





The event is summing up the results of

 

Week of Youth that was launched in the country on May 17.

 

A number of various activities were organized in the country during the Week of Youth.

 

They held charitable actions in baby houses and orphanages, the competition “


Tajikistan


’s Student of the Year”, republican conference of young researchers dedicated the 1,150th birthday of founder of Tajik-Persian classic literature Abu Abdullo Rudaki and various contests among female students,

 






Today’s event will end with a cultural program Shomi Javonon (youth party) with participation of known Tajik artistes.

  






The source at the youth committee said that President Emomali Rahmon intends to meet with representatives of the country’s youth in June ahead of a Day of National Unity, which is marked on June 27.
