DUSHANBE, May 27, 2015, Asia-Plus — Members of Tajikistan’s lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament have unanimously voted for amendments proposed by the government to the country’s law on trade and domestic services.
A regular sitting of the first session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the fifth convocation, presided over by its head, Shukurjon Zuhurov, took place on May 27.
Presenting the bill, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nematullo Hikmtullozoda noted that the proposed amendments restrict role of local authorities in organizing activities of markets and laying down rules of trade in the country.
“Now only relevant government bodies such as the antimonopoly agency and the agency for standardization and certification will be engaged in solving these issues,” the minister said.
