DUSHANBE, June 8, 2015, Asia-Plus – A convoy of 76 trucks carrying a total of 1,100 tons of humanitarian aid for orphanages, people with disabilities and vulnerable families was sent to the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) on June 7.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, the assistance including food products, clothes, wheelchairs and special technical stock will be distributed to boarding schools for orphaned children, people with disabilities and 8,597 vulnerable families.
A total cost of the assistance is 5.5 million somoni and a special group has been set up for distributing it beneficiaries. The group members include representatives of the government, president’s administration and heads of GBAO’s cities and districts, the president’s official website said.
