Date:

DUSHANBE, June 15, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tojiddin Asomuddinov, Rector of Islamic Institute named after Imam Abu Hanifa, has denied information about the closure of Islamic High School functioning at Islamic University as ‘unfounded.’

“Islamic High School continues functioning.  Problems have arisen with placement of the school.  Islamic High School will be temporarily placed in the building of Islamic Institute,” said Asomuddinov.  “The issue of the number of students will be solved by the Ministry of Education and Science.  The Government has already allocated funds for construction of buildings for Islamic Institute and Islamic High School.  Construction will take two or three years.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of Education and Science Nouriddin Saidov reportedly ordered to distribute teachers and students from Islamic High School to four secondary schools in Dushanbe.

Ehson Khoushvakhtov, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education and Science, says the minister has sent a relevant letter to four schools, where teachers from Islamic High School will be temporarily placed in jobs for the time of construction of a new building for Islamic High School.

According to him, Islamic High School has been temporarily closed for financial reasons.

1,458 students, including 910 girls, have reportedly studied at Islamic High School in Dushanbe.  Islamic High School was established in 2009 on Government’s initiative.
