QURGHON TEPPA, June 15, 2015, Asia-Plus — A delegation of Iran’s Hamadan Province, headed by its governor, Mohammad Naser Nikbakht, has visited Khatlon Province in southern Tajikistan.

On June 15, the Iranian delegation held talks with Khatlon governor Davlatsho Gulmahmadzoda.

Mohammad Naser Nikbakht told reporters after the meeting that they had discussed issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of cooperation between Hamadan and Khatlon provinces in the fields of economics and culture.

According to him, the Iranian delegation consists of representatives of Hamadan’s local council, entrepreneurs and cultural workers.

While in Qurghon Teppa, the Iranian delegation visited the Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) Resanda and the Qurghon Teppa State University named after Nosir Khusrav.

In the afternoon, Iranian guests visited the Kulob region of Khatlon.

Hamadan Province is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. Its center is Hamadan city. Other major cities of Hamadan province are Toyserkan, Nahavand, Malayer, Asad Abad, Bahar, Famenin, Razan and Kabudrahang.  The province has a population of over 1,820,000 million.  The province is divided into 8 Shahrestans (counties), which in turn are divided into 23 Bakhshs (districts) in total.
