DUSHANBE, May 6, Asia-Plus — Representatives of Dushanbe will attend celebrations to mark the 2,200th anniversary of the foundation of Tashkent that will be held in May 2009, Uzbek Consul to Tajikistan, Mr. Mirodil Abdurazzoqov, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, many jubilee buildings, including new buildings for Islamic University and National Public Library, will be constructed in the Uzbek capital on occasion of the jubilee.
“A number of cultural events to mark Uzbek capital’s jubilee will be held across the country as well as in Uzbek diplomatic missions in other countries,” the consul said.
