DUSHANBE, April 29, Asia-Plus  — A ceremony of handover of $86,634 worth of medical equipments to the hospital of the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) was held on April 28.  

According to the Japanese Embassy in Dushanbe, the equipment has been provided under the Grant Assistance for Grass Roots Human Security Projects.  

Under this project the Government of Japan provided one ultrasound machine, one operating table, one electrocardiograph, one mobile X-ray machine, one anesthetic apparatus, one fiechropharesis apparatus, one throat spraying device, one gastro-scope, and one large generator, press release issued by the Japanese Embassy said. 

The provided medical equipments with the generator are expected to contribute to for significant number of patients in the CES as well as to the near neighbors who need medical diagnostics even when there is no central electricity.  

Under the Grant Assistance for Grass Roots Human Security Projects, the Government of Japan has extended to the total grant of US$13,689,128 for 215 projects to support a variety of humanitarian and development activities in Tajikistan since 1998.
