Dushanbe. 3 September. “Asia Plus” — Tajik Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Ramazon Rahimzoda Hamro on September 2 met in Dushanbe with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Daniel Rosenblum.

As reports the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the sides have discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and weapons.

Ramazon Rahimzoda has noted that the US Embassy in Tajikistan regularly provides technical assistance to law enforcement agencies of the republic, which certainly helps in the fight against crime and terrorism.

Also, they discussed the issues in the reform of the police and the Public Council for the Promotion of Civil Society in the reform of the police under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Daniel Rosenblum noted that in the framework of his working visit to Sugd he has visited the Center police interaction with the public in Kayrakkum city and acquainted with the work of the center.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their willingness to develop and strengthen the mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation between law enforcement authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan and the United States.
