Dushanbe. 4 September. “Asia Plus” — Today, at about 3 o”clock in the morning a group of relatives of Umar Bobojonov committed an armed attack on the DMIA in Vahdat: four policemen were killed.
Before that, the criminals in Dushanbe secretly penetrated on the territory of one of the military units located near the airport, and took with them a large number of small arms and ammunition, said a source in the power structures of Tajikistan.
With these weapons was attacked the DMIA in Vahdat, and killed the police. After this the attackers fled in an unknown direction, said the source to “Asia-Plus”.
Currently, all law enforcement officers in Tajikistan are raised by the alarm, on the streets of Dushanbe were tightened security measures.
As it became known to “Asia-Plus” from reliable sources, last night in the hospital died a 23-year-old resident of Vahdat, a student of St. Petersburg University Umar Bobojonov. On August 28 Bobojonov was taken to Vahdat police department on the fact of wearing a beard.
On August 29 Umar Bobojonov with multiple injuries was taken from the police to the local hospital emergency room. Relatives of U. Bobojonov claimed that he was severely beaten by police for having a beard. Then by the city prosecutor”s office was opened a criminal case on fact of beating Umar Bobojonov.
On behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, Militia Lieutenant General Ramazon Rahimzoda, began an internal investigation on the fact of beating Bobojonov. For the investigation of the incident was established team of investigators headed by a deputy minister.
The MIA minister then strictly ordered to the operational investigative group, as a part of the internal investigation, to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice, and promised to circulate the media information about the results of the investigation.
