DUSHANBE, April 5, Asia-Plus — The British Ambassador to Tajikistan Mr. Graeme Loten today started a four-day visit to districts in the Zarafshon Valley, the Sughd province, according to the British Embassy in Dushanbe. The visit includes the districts of Panjakent and Ayni.
The main purpose of the visit is for the Ambassador to review progress in the implementation of various projects in these two districts which are funded by the British Government’s Department for International Development (DFID) and implemented by UNDP.
The British Ambassador intends to pay special attention to the education sector and state of schools in the Zarafshon Valley.
It cannot be ruled out that Mr. Loten will also take advantage of this trip to hold meetings with representatives from civil society of Panjakent and Ayni.
