President visits site for presidential lyceum in Chkalovsk

KHUJAND, March 20, Asia-Plus  – President Emomali Rahmon today morning started his two-day tour of northern Tajikistan from visiting the site for presidential lyceum in the city of Chkalovsk.    

According to the Sughd regional administration, the construction of the educational facility officially commenced in Chkalovsk in 1988 already but the construction work was suspended after collapse of the Soviet Union due to financial problems.  

The lyceum with 33 classes is scheduled to accommodate 1,300 pupils.  It will have training TV studio as well as separate arts, choreographic and theatrical studios.  To develop physical training of pupils they will also construct two swimming pools.  Besides the lyceum will have dormitory for pupils and residential building for teachers.  

This educational facility will create some jobs for some 100 teachers.
