DUSHANBE, March 20, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon today left for Khujand, the capital of the Sughd province to attend the Navrouz celebrations there, presidential press service said.  

Today, the president will visit the site for presidential lyceum in the city of Chkalovsk to familiarize himself with a progress of the construction work and attend a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of three multi-story residential buildings in Khujand.  

Today, President Rahmon will also visit the Somgar settlement in the Bobojonghafurov district, where he will take part in hashar (Tajikistan’s tradition of people’s participation and inclusion in the community wellbeing, whereby members of one or more communities join hands and work voluntarily for the benefit of the whole community) on laying out a new orchard there. 

The main celebrations to mark Navrouz will be held in Khujand on March 21 and the head of state will return to Dushanbe tomorrow evening.
