DUSHANBE, March 17, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who is currently on his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), yesterday met in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

In the course of the talks, President Rahmon noted that Tajikistan attached significance to expansion of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation with the UAE.  He also expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the two countries.

Tajik leader also expressed hope that new cooperation documents in the fields of politics, security, education, sports and tourism that being signed during the visit would promote further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Arab Emirates.

The two sides reportedly also discussed issues related to attraction of foreign investments for construction of enhancement of energy and transportation sectors in Tajikistan.

They also exchange views on expansion of scientific and cultural ties, launching joint ventures and other issues being of mutual interest, the president’s website said.

reports that  Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, who arrived in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday on a two-day official visit, on March 16 welcomed at the Presidential flight in Abu Dhabi by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, who hoped the visit would further friendly relations between the two countries.

At the airport, the Tajik President was also welcomed by Dr, Amal Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, Lt Gen Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, and Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon, Member of the Executive Council.

President Rahmon was accorded an official reception as the national anthems of Tajikistan and the UAE were played followed by a 21-gun salute, reported UAE news agency

During a meeting, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and President Rahmon discussed ways the two countries could cooperate in the fields of economy, tourism and energy.

They discussed regional conflicts and the importance of a focused international effort to ensure stability and peace in the region,
