DUSHANBE, March 17, 2016, Asia-Plus – Over the first two months of this year, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has amounted to 586.4 million U.S. dollars, which was 95.3 percent of the January-February 2015 level or 29 million U.S. dollars fewer, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance over the report period was negative and amounted to 311.2 million U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in January-February have amounted to 137.6 million U.S. dollars, which was 7.9 percent or 11.6 million USD fewer than in the same period last year.

Over the report period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to more 448.8 million U.S. dollars, which was 3.7 percent or 17.3 million USD fewer than in January-February 2015.   

In January-February this year, Tajikistan has had trade relations with 86 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the same two-month period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: China – more than 150 million USD; Russia – about 140 million U.S. dollars; Kazakhstan – more than 92 million U.S. dollars; Turkey – nearly 60 million U.S. dollars; and Iran – more than 17 million U.S. dollars.
