Nasruddin Nazari, the Dasht-i-Archi district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the seminary named ‘Kokcha’ was in Shinwari area, about four kilometers from the district center.

Kunduz Governor Asadullah Omarkhil has confirmed that the seminary students were undergoing training in acts of terrorism.

“Security forces received information about it last week and they would soon act against the madrasa,” he said.

He said around 300 students at the madrasa were receiving training under the watchful eyes of Maulavi Jannat Gul, a notorious member of the Haqqani Network.
