DUSHANBE, June 8, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik known statesman and public figure Sulton Mirzoshoyev died in Dushanbe yesterday, aged 85 after a short illness.
Born in Dangahra district on January 9, 1932, Sulton Mirzoshoyev graduated from the Faculty of History at Kulob Teachers’ Training Institute in 1963 and the Higher Party School at the Central Committee of the Soviet Union Communist Party in Moscow in 1968.
From 1968 to 1990, he held various positions in the Communist Party of Tajikistan and the government.
In 1993-1994, Sulton Mirzoshoyev served as Head of President’s Executive Office.
In 1995-1998, he was Vice-President of Joint-Stock Company (JSC) Intourist Tajikistan (Tajikistan Hotel).
From 1998 to 2007, Sulton Mirzoshoyev served as Director of the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex under the President’s Executive Office.
Sulton Mirzoshoyev was awarded various orders and medals of the Soviet Union and Tajikistan.
Sulton Mirzoshoyev is author of many articles and books about cinematography and culture of Tajikistan.
