DUSHANBE, February 19, Asia-Plus  — President Emomali Rahmon yesterday had a telephone conversation with his Afghan counterpart, President Hamid Karzai, according to Tajik presidential press service. 

During the conversation, Rahmon expressed condolences to Karzai over the death of dozens of people in a Sunday bomb blast in Afghanistan’s Kandahar province.  

We will recall that a bomber in Kandahar city on Sunday killed more than 100 people – the country”s bloodiest attack since 2001.

In the course of the conversation, the two also exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.  Rahmon and Karzai agreed to hold a bilateral meeting in the near future, presidential press service said.
